Nautical

Top: H&M, Skirt: BeBe, Shoes: Zara, Purse: Urban Outfitters,
Sunnies: Banana Republic, Head Band: Target, Earrings: Nordstrom,
Necklace: Dogeared, Lipstick: Make Up For Ever 41

Going back to the 9 to 5 has my head a whirl with outfits revolving around pencil skirts.

This weekend I ran a gorgeous half marathon on the trails of San Rafael. This race was extra special to me because the proceeds benefited the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund (BCEF), an organization that I have had the privilege working with to put on their yearly event- This Old Bag.

Getting RED-Y

Shirt: H&M, Cami: Gap, Pants: Express, Shoes: Zara, Sunnies: Target, Jewelry: J.Crew, David Yurman, F21, Own

Over the weekend the lover and I went to see the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the de Young - which is amazing btw - and spent the rest of the time just lounging around. We are headed to Singapore this Thursday and to Koh Samui next week so I'll be spending the next few days preparing. I'm in need of a   (comfy) travel neck pillow, any suggestions?

How was everyone's weekend?

Sherbert

Shirt: H&M, Jeans: Gap, Shoes: Jessica Simpson, Bag: Vintage, Sunnies: F21, Jewelry: Jcrew, Banana Republic, David Yurman, Own

The weather has been so finicky lately, but I'm so happy that Sunday I was able to enjoy the sunshine. I started the day by having brunch in Sausalito and then cocktails in Tiburon at Sam's. Sunshine, cocktails, and the premiere of Game of Thrones = a FAB Sunday.

Orange you Comfy

Pants: H&M, Shoes: Steve Madden, Shirt: Old Navy, Vest: F21,
Sunnies: Banana Republic, Cuff: Banana Republic

This sweater vest is amazing- completely comfortable yet still chic. It is perfect for this frigid weather we have been having in San Francisco! I love the bright color trend because I feel like you can pair bright jeans or bright shoes (or in this case both) and instantly upgrade an outfit.

We went and saw The Hunger Games last Friday- it was serious perfection! If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recomend it. Even if you haven't read the book. Katniss' hair in the movie has made me obsessed with braids. I need to learn how to do a fishtail braid asap!

Happy New Year

Jacket and shirt: F21, Jeans: Seven For All Mankind, Shoes: Sam Edelman, Bag: Dareen Hakim, Sunnies: Target, Jewelry: F21, Picnic, David Yurman, SassyBrown via Etsy, Own

My Dareen Hakim Le Icon clutch is a staple for me and I felt that it was fitting for this post. I love the embossed leather and the most of all the Arabic calligraphy. I discovered the line a couple of years ago at Magic and it was love at first sight. What I love most is that you can customize your Le Icon clutch by choosing the leather, plaque and inscription. I have the Olive Croc with a brushed gold cutout reading "wisdom and strength".

Tuesday was Persian New Year (Aidetoon Mobarak) so I spent Monday night with family and friends eating amazing food and dancing into the wee hours of the night. It's my fave time of year because it also marks the first day of Spring (even though it doesn't always feel like it in SF) It's tradition to eat smoked white fish with sabzi polo which is green herbs with rice, the holiday is to Persians what Christmas is Christians.

This afternoon I'm going with Kris and some friends to watch the Hunger Games. We are EXTREME fans of the novels and cannot wait to see it on the big screen!! Stay tuned for our movie review... until then have a fabulous weekend!!

Kris' Birthday Celebrations

I love birthday cards!
They are my favorite part of birthdays and always remind me how lucky I am
to be surrounded by such incredible family and friends! xx

Nic and I after a casual birthday dinner with some of my best girlfriends in the city.

My wonderful Fiance surprised me with a trip to Tahoe!

View from the top of that mountain at Heavenly.

Me before an amazing birthday dinner at Cafe Fiore.

Snowed in with a bottle of wine! Couldn't be happier!

The aftermath- trying to take a picture after too many libations- no birthday would be complete without that!! ;)

With all of the wedding planning and events that have been going on this year- my birthday snuck right up on me! I am such an organizer that I usually have a celebration planned a month in advance, but this year my friends were asking me what I was going to do and I honestly had no idea.  Being the wonderful people that they are- they planned dinners for me. To top it of my amazing fiance surprised me with a trip to Tahoe- and I couldn't have planned it better myself (a huge compliment from me). A storm hit Friday so we decided to forgo skiing and hit up the bowling alley instead, when we hit the slopes on Saturday- we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, the sun was shinning and the snow was mint. Apres ski, Chris surprised me with a couples massage and an amazing dinner at the quantist restaurant- Cafe Fiore. There were only 8 tables in the entire place!

This year was a particularly noteworthy as it was my last birthday as a single lady! Being engaged has been so amazing, like having a birthday times a million! I was almost brought to tears when I opened my present from Chris' sister- a bead for my charm bracelet that had "sister" engraved all over it. I have never had a sister before, and am so excited that my family is about to double! Nic also got me the most darling gold Kate Spade earrings that read "Mrs.", eek! I am about to be a Mrs!!

And guess what?! I figured out that my 30th birthday is on a SATURDAY, so as soon as the wedding is over I am going to start planning that! Just kidding... kinda...

xx,
Kristina
